My Top Picks for Well-Informed Women's Health Podcasts

Whether you’re curious for yourself or someone close, it’s no secret that most of us didn’t receive adequate health education in school. While some of these podcasts focus on menstrual and women-centred health, I encourage you to pick one or two episodes that appeal to you and listen. They may be more relevant to your life than you expect.

The podcasts listed below are sorted alphabetically, and all of them are worth giving a try.

1. CYCLICAL Podcast with Dr. Cassandra Wilder

Let’s start off with one of the first health podcasts I began listening to.

Dr. Cassandra Wilder, a Naturopathic Doctor, specializes in women’s hormonal health and takes body autonomy to another level. Throughout the run of the podcast, she has discussed all stages of life and a variety of conditions, including symptoms, signs, tests, and even common treatments. There’s a wide variety of guest speakers and different perspectives explored which allows listeners to draw their own conclusions instead of only being shown one narrowed view. While menstrual cycles are a large part of the content discussed, there are many alternative topics of interest as well as even general health explored within this show. I recommend this podcast for anyone beginning their journey of integrative or holistic health.

My Favourite Episodes:

  1. #125 Ayurveda and Cyclical Health with Jema Lee
  2. # 155 A Candid Conversation with Holistic OBGYN Nathan Riley.

Whether you’re a health practitioner or professional, the knowledge and experience behind this podcast is evidently priceless. I believe this podcast is great if you’re passionate about reproductive health and the menstrual cycle.

She is truly a force to be reckoned with being an MD, Herbalist, and Midwife with decades of experience in healthcare, she is changing how integrative and herbal medicine interact with the medical system. After Dr. Romm graduated medical she was asked the following interview question from Prevention Magazine with a response from Dr. Romm:

“Now that you’re a doctor, do you still use natural medicines in your practice? Are herbs still a go-to for you?”
“Yes, I told her, more than ever.”

In addition to seven published books, Dr. Romm also teaches programs and courses based in herbalism, integrative medicine and holistic care for a variety of areas.
